Utter East - NEW WIP

Description

Just another map I am toying with ATM. Nothing amazing, yet. Its actually being built off of a blown-up piece of my continental map, hence the weird 'double exposure' effect in some places. I did an Utter East map over a decade ago, and its almost embarrassing now, so, I'm doing a new one. Just a WIP, of course The very large, black text won't be on the finished one - thats just a reference to the 'Realms of Order' from the 'Blood & Magic' Video Game, which is why I am posting this right now (as part of a discussion elsewhere). Oh, and settlements/locales in red are homebrew, not canon.

Utter East Works game map thoughts 2 by x64600
I attached an edit, where I think some of these locations might be on your map. Just my own Opinions. :happybounce:
========================================
This is the map I used in my Utter East Campaign. Which to place around 650 DR.
Handsome Rob's Utter East 657 DR Edit by x64600
=======================================

This is great, Looks more based on the old 1990 Atlas. I have a complex campaign setup in the Utter East. A sort of Romance of the 5 Kingdoms thing. So I jotted down a few notes from my own efforts to flesh out this area.

This may not exactly be canon. But it seems implied. That Edenvale moved. sometime after Eleint 657 DR.

Here is how I think it went down.

The Bloodforge wars, 648-657 DR. At this time The 'Matchmaker Mayhem,' & then the 'Legendary Campaign.' ended up draining to much power from the sources of magic that maintained the wards that kept ancient Fiends imprisoned under the Utter East. Under the Sempadan in the case of Edenvale. At this time Edenvale seems to have been located in the North east part of the Sempadan. From comparing maps.

So then a Caliph of Zakara sends legions of Askar to scour the utter east of heathens, barbarians, & Fiends. In early Mirtul of 657 DR they waged a 5 month campaign of slaughter, from the ports of Parsanic, Doegan, & Konigheim.

Likely leaving Edenvale largely untouched, at least by Askar. Edenvale was of course under siege by Fiends.

(Not Cannon, But I think this fixes the map discrepancies.) So some time after Eleint of 657 DR. Edenvale moved North. Taking over the East half of Doegan. To escape the Fiends plaguing the Sempadan, & it's not like many Ffolk/Northmen/Mar were left in Doegan to contest the refugees from Edenvale taking over.

This explains the discrepancies between the Maps of the Utter East from the 'Blood & Magic.' Game. & the state of the utter east in 1368 DR. as described in the 'Faces of Deception' Novel.

=========================================================

I think the "Primitive Nations" which were; 'The Realm of Lands,' 'The Realm of Fire,' & 'The Realm of Tides,' Existed in their prime likely during 'The Days of Thunder,' or the 'Dawn Age.' sometime around -30000 DR.

I'm thinking that it was at this time that the Circle of order created the Bloodforges, & Imprisoned the Fiends that plagued the Utter East. Along with one of their own, Tartyron. Trapped by Wards under the Utter East.

The 'Circle of Order,' came from East of the Great Sea. As the story goes, "In the Beginning of all things, The realms were a frenzy of creation. And from this turmoil there arose primitive Nations."

In the Realm of Lands there was, High Cradle Keep. And to get to it, one had to go through The Mines of Mystery.

Deep underground is a tunnel that is a gate to the realm of Fire.

In the Circle of Order Campaign they re-imprison Tartyron underground, "New wards were placed to seal off his prison," "Yet the circle knew, that this peace could not last." "For it was the balance in all things." "That when many eras had passed." "Chaos would spill out into the world, To challenge the progress of order once more."

Tartyron was imprisoned underground by wards. which he broke free of. Similar to the 'Plague of Fiends' event. Which makes me think it was the Circle of order who originally imprisoned the ancient Fiends, Likely using the Blood forges to wage war against the fiends, & tame the Utter east of the monsters.

The Realm of Lands seems to have been taken over by Ulgarth, & Parsanic, While the Realm of Fire is under Volcanos that are just North of the Serpent Valley. The Realm of Tides seems to have been taken over by Doegan, & Parsanic. Just a few thoughts of locations of various stuff,
