The Misbegotten Realms by Markustay The Misbegotten Realms by Markustay
This is a composite of an older map of mine, and what I am working on now, to demonstrate how I see the other continents falling out on my world. Not sure if I want to leave Ansalon there - thats just a hold-over from the earlier composite maps. Thats Greyhawk to the west, and Xendrik to the SW. Thats an inverted Sarlona to the south - another hold-over from the earlier maps. You'll my FR is VERY different from canon - I've broken the vcontinent up and added quite a few things (and rearranged just about everything else). The east is a composite of Kara-Tur and Tian-Xia. The Wilderlands setting is also glued onto the east coast of Zakhara now - I have a lot of fond memories of playing there.

Yes, I will. I am currently working on some of the stuff to the west - what used to be the Unapproachable East (sans Thay, which did not move). What I am hoping to eventually do is a Netbook Campaign Guide with all locales listed alphabetically, with where they came from, and any notes on what has changed due to the amalgam-nature of my maps. The first area to get this treatment should be my 'New North' (which is now in the east). The way I have woven all the different canon together is very convoluted, but it all works out.

The idea behind this is to give RPG players a setting where there is the MOST amount of material available for them to run campaigns, and the most published adventures. Right now, my biggest challenge is to get ALL the Pathfinder Adventure paths to work in my Misbegotten Realms. I ran into a HUGE problem with Kingmaker, and have to tweak the hell out of everything... again (Rashemen has move much closer to Cormyr, for instance). Its all good, though - each change gives me new ideas. Right now I am playing with ways to have Irrisen (PF) and Rashemen (FR) interact (even though both are witch-ruled, I think there is enough differences to keep both, and intertwine their lore). We've seen the good witch/bad witch thing done so many times (everything from Wizard of Oz to Wheel of Time), but it is an excellent trope and I can get some good mileage out of it. Thus, blending the lore leads to new possibilities, not just challenges.

Thank you for your interest.

This is great so far! I can't wait to see the finished product! Are you going to post a link over on CK?

Is there going to be a bigger more detailed version in the future? I actually like these maps more.
